About maca powder

Vincent Carrié says maca powder—made from finely ground organic maca root—is packed with vitamins and minerals. It contains vitamin B2 and iron, which help support immune health and energy levels. Iron also plays a role in maintaining normal cognitive function.

For this recipe, an oat-based milk like barista-style oat milk works well. Once the milk is infused with the spices and maca, frothing it gives that creamy foam we associate with a classic latte.

This plant-based maca latte is not only easy to make—it’s also a healthy and comforting drink you can enjoy at home whenever you need a gentle lift.

Ingredients

  • 250 ml plant-based milk
  • 2 tsp maca powder
  • 1 tbsp coconut sugar
  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch cardamom
  • 1 pinch nutmeg

Method

Step 1

Combine all the ingredients in a small saucepan and gently heat over medium-low heat.

Step 2

Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring until the sugar dissolves and the milk is infused with spice and maca—this should take about 5 minutes. Serve warm and frothy.
